I was a bit overwhelmed with the response of my posting yesterday on BroadwayStars looking for some help. I actually had to take down the posting. By noon, I had received about 100 responses! I was able to find someone early yesterday morning. I do want to thank you for coming to my call. If you would still like, send on your resume to me and I will keep it on file as these type of jobs come up all the time. If not, I wish you the best. Thanks for reading and writing.

So you read it here first, BroadwayOnline.com is... officially not doing today what it was doing yesterday. There is a rotating "best of" for each of the sections, but it is unlikely that the site will have new content. Robert Viagas wrote his goodbye column (Matthew linked to it below.) And the staff is not in the office today. Broadway Television Network has not released a statement about the demise of this business unit, strikingly similar to the way in which InTheater just disappeared in denial. Just like InTheater did, BTN has a plan to re-open BroadwayOnline.com with a white knight, but I don't see that happening at this point. We are very sad. But it looks like all of our favorite players will resurface very soon at familiar outlets. (Peter Filichia will kick off at TheaterMania on Monday!) It will be just like they went on vacation and got a new haircut. BroadwayStars will continue to link to BroadwayOnline stories until it doesn't make sense (if the site goes dead, they make a major restructure of the content, etc...)

Been listening to Danny Zolli's new CD. It is really well produced and shows Danny's range, not only in notes (which is exceptional) but also from rock and roll to musical theatre. It would be a perfect addition to any fan of the rock musical set. Danny's self-produced CD would hold up against any major label release. It is that good. For more information about it or to buy it, see Danny's site at www.dannyzolli.com.

Today is suppose to be D-Day for BroadwayOnline.com. It is strange that other than a few columnists announcing that they are moving on, we have not really heard anything official from the owners (Broadway Television Network). Does this reflect upon their other business practices? I guess it does. We will just have to wait and see if there is new content on BroadwayOnline.com tomorrow for our answer.

BroadwayOnline.Com says goodbye. Here are two of the seven new--and presumably final--links from the page:

Email me

And this from our anonymous blind link:

LOVE, JANIS posted its closing notice last night and will perform its final performance at the Village Theatre on Sunday, November 5th at 7:30pm. The show has mounted a debt of $500,000 (yes, half a million)! Checks are reportedly bouncing.
Got a note from a friend that owns a professional design firm that has been in business for 8 years. They are heavily in the corporate market but are looking to get into the Broadway/Film market. The do mostly concept/branding and print and are looking for companies/projects to work on. Small companies with little to no money are encouraged to apply. It is not about money right now, it is about building a relationship. Email me for further info.
