Could KING LEAR Be Denzel Washington's Next Broadway Project? by BroadwayWorld

Denzel Washington is currently on stage inEugene O'Neill's ferocious American classic, The Iceman Cometh, but apparently he almost took on a different iconic role. In an interview with The New York Times, Washington says it came down to Iceman and King Lear.
