Pamela Lane, the first wife of the playwright John Osborne, who has died at the age of 80, outlived all of his subsequent four wives. Her impetuous, runaway marriage to Osborne in June 1951 - when they were both 21 - became the model for the murderous marriage of Jimmy Porter and Alison in Look Back in Anger.
