Houdini, Art and Magic by Howard Kissel

One of the most arresting images in "Houdini, Art and Magic," currenty at the Jewish Museum, is a 1916 photograph of the great magician standing beside the carriage of Sarah Bernhardt, perhaps the most famous actress who ever lived.
