Stage review: Public Theater's 'Disgraced' expertly builds toward explosive twist by Christopher Rawson

An African American, a Jew and a WASP walk into a bar . . . That's how the joke might begin, except in this case it isn't a bar, there's also a Muslim-American, and "Disgraced" isn't (as its title suggests) really a joke at all. There's humor early on, but the tone gradually darkens, then there's a gulp and a twist and something worse, and no one's laughing at all.
