Apollo Legend Charlie Parker to Return In Spirit in Yardbird Opera
The Apollo, in partnership with Opera Philadelphia, will stage its first opera next April, Charlie Parker's Yardbird, starring Lawrence Brownlee. The project, which was announced earlier but put on hold, marks a special occasion for the venue in celebrating jazz musician Parker, who performed at the Apollo regularly.
