On June 15, 2015 the Trevor Project honored Sir Ian McKellen with the Trevor Hero Award for his ongoing support of the LGBTQ community at TrevorLIVE New York. The award has previously been awarded to Alan Cumming, Lady Gaga, Nathan Lane, Katy Perry, Jane Lynch and numerous others. Sir Ian McKellen took to the stage and delivered a rousing, impowering, social media exploding speech that you have to see to believe.
