From whose vantage point?
Light makes photography happen, but time is what makes it irresistible. Who can resist a point-and-click time machine? That’s what photography is, after all, bringing the past into the present and preserving it for the future. As the critic Roland Barthes once wrote, “Cameras are clocks for seeing.’’
