Emperor and Galilean
"Emperor and Galilean" is in a great many ways exactly the sort of drama the National Theatre should be attempting. A totally uncommercial classic that would never have been seen without them. This doesn't make it great, it really isn't, but cut from a rather un-godly nine hours to a still rather un-godly three and a half, it's a true novelty and a fascinating evening out.Quite what the point of Ibsen's history play …
