Lyric Opera has its Maria
Lyric Opera has solved its Maria problem. The Broadway actress Jenn Gambatese ("Tarzan: The Musical"), most recently seen in Chicago as Glinda in the national tour of "Wicked," will play Maria, the strumming novice, in the company's spring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," Lyric announced on Monday.
