Growing the Greenhouse: Bookstore and new carpet a good start by Chris Jones

When the Greenhouse Theater Center looks run-down — and, over the past year or two, the notorious carpet in the joint has seemed on the edge of total disintegration — a certain sadness sets in among longtime supporters of off-Loop theater. The four-venue Greenhouse, located in Lincoln Park at 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., is no ordinary building.
