Andy Griffith, Television Star of Fictional Mayberry, Dies at 86 by Robert Simonson

Andy Griffith, who carved out a particularly American television persona as the beloved star of the series "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock," died July 3 at his home in Dare County, NC. He was 86.
