Obituary: Philip Madoc by The Stage

Philip Madoc could speak seven languages as if they were his Welsh mother tongue and could get by in another three (Huron Indian included). He was no less eloquent in an acting career that spanned the best part of six decades, variously playing Lear, Lloyd George, Lord Byron, Prospero, Shylock and Stalin.
