"Don't tell him, Pike" was the immortal line issued in response to the command, "Vot is your name?" uttered by the U-boat captain played by Phillip Madoc in Dad's Army. I was saddened to hear of his death. A most affable man, I met him in 1976 when he appeared at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
