Muppet spoof film presaged 'Avenue Q' BY LISA ROSE

The production may be racy for the Great White Way, but it's "Sesame Street" next to "Meet the Feebles," a 1989 no-budget indie film from New Zealand that savaged Jim Henson's cuddly world. Directed by Peter Jackson, who's gone on to helm the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, the $750,000 feature is a backstage look at an animal showbiz troupe, a la "The Muppet Show." Albeit, with a morbid twist.
