Awakening youngsters to the stage experience BY MARY HOULIHAN

The subculture of children's theater has always existed on the outer edges of "grown-up" theater. So it was an inspired and surprising move when Disney Theatricals hired Julie Taymor to create the stage version of one of the company's most popular films.
