Disney's landmark musical event, THE LION KING, set a new box office record at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre by grossing 1,993,370 - the show's highest grossing week to date - during the sold-out eight-performance New Year's holiday week of December 27, 2010 - January 2, 2011. The previous Minskoff record was held by THE LION KING, with a gross of 1,870,145 set Thanksgiving holiday week ending 11282010.
