Zooman and the Sign - Reviewed by ERIK HAAGENSEN

Charles Fuller's 1980 work "Zooman and the Sign" is a problem play, the problem being the social deprivations and concomitant personal failures that lead to gang violence, senseless murders, and terrified citizenry. But despite a sterling production by Signature Theatre Company, the play's own problems prevent it from being the searing emotional experience it needs to be.
