Jenkins learns, earns insight as 'McDaniel' BY MARY HOULIHAN

New York actress Capathia Jenkins is best known for her singing roles in musicals such as Tony Kushner's "Caroline or Change" and Martin Short's "Fame Becomes Me." But earlier this year, Jenkins took on a challenge of a different nature when she made her dramatic debut in Joan Ross Sorkin's one-woman show "(mis)Understanding MAMMY: The Hattie McDaniel Story" at Off-Broadway's Theatre 5.
