Kentucky Opera's abridged "La Traviata" packs powerful voices into its small space by Elizabeth Kramer

Since Giuseppe Verdi put music to the story of the 1852 play "La Dame aux camélias" by Alexandre Dumas fils, giving voice to "La Traviata" and the doomed Violetta, t his grand opera has inspired scores of complementary stories.
