John Osborne Slept in Parks, Abused His Wives and Was Beloved By Ruth Leon
John Osborne was one of the nastiest men I ever met.<br> The playwright reserved a special venom for critics and women he didn't fancy, and I fitted into both categories. My husband, theater critic Sheridan Morley, treasures a postcard from him, written in the name of the "Playwrights' Mafia." It reads: "Watch out behind you on dark nights, Fatty Morley."
