Newman's early songs in a show that falls flat By Howard Shapiro

Randy Newman's early songs were collected two decades ago in a show called The Middle of Nowhere, and they have not held up. Performed together in a revival at the Prince Music Theater, they come across as 90 minutes of nearly unrelenting kvetching.
