'Hairspray' at the Surflight: A sparkly puff on a summer night
Despite a cranky sound system, "Hairspray" at the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven, N.J., was sparkly, funny, and energetic, worth a ride to Long Beach Island. A clever script and strong song and dance overcame the stereotypes and balky mics.
