Paul Bernardo awoke from a motorcycle accident to broken ankles, a broken shoulder, broken ribs, a concussion. He was in an ambulance, and he had no memory of the incident or the woman who had pulled him out of the road, where he had skidded along the New Jersey asphalt and been hit by a car.
