Well, that was 2016 " a weird, troubling 12 months by anyone's standards, characterized by war, political catastrophe and so many extraordinary people in the cultural arena shuffling off this mortal coil that it sometimes felt like some sort of sick cosmic joke. Plenty of us will be only too happy...
