Hollywood's "Spotlight," about the Boston Globe's investigation into crimes covered up by the Catholic Church, fully deserved its 2015 Oscar for Best Picture. It also made working for a daily newspaper look like the kind of voluntary self-flagellation pursued only by serious masochists. Who else would spend 12 hours in a dingy basement being berated...
