In the spring of 1961, as the civil rights movement heated up, Americans of diverse races and backgrounds boarded buses bound for the Deep South in a bold show of protest against segregation.This month, three San Diego-bred theater artists are taking a new musical about that campaign for racial justice to New York, in a workshop production they hope will lead to bigger things.
