Ivo van Hove Asked to Keep Knowledge of Bowie's Cancer Confidential
Broadway director Ivo van Hove told the New York Times that he had been aware of David Bowie's illness since November 2014 but did not tell the cast, at the singer's request. The pop music icon lost a very private 18-month battle with cancer Jan. 10 at age 69.
