one thing worth noting is that he has a far less complicated relationship to class and race in his writing. His milieu is almost exclusively the white upper middle class. One could argue color-blind casting would partially solve that, but race is not a major theme in his writing that I'm aware of. There's The Death of Bessie Smith but it's about a white hospital.
