Northern Stage, Newcastle upon Tyne: Joseph Heller adapted his classic satire himself in 1971 but the resulting script was difficult enough not to have made it to a UK production until now, so you have to admire Rachel Chavkin's effort in taking on this sprawling, challenging beast.
