Williamstown shows why 'Desire' is classic by Michael Janairo

The strongest acting comes from Sam Rockwell, whose presence enlivens the stage. Even though he doesn't have a tall and brutish physique, he creates a Stanley Kowalski who is fully and consistently realized as a smarmy, small-minded brute. His acting made director David Cromer's choice of including a scene of simulated sex with Stella feel gratuitous.
