The music performances and dancing here are impressive, and Director Jess McLeod keeps the whole affair moving briskly, as it should. But the production feels cramped and, being this is a start-up non-equity theatre, the set/design budgets are small, thus forcing the choice of a minimalist feel - which is never a good idea when the material itself has such minimal charm on paper.
