Theatre Royal, Bristol: Sally Cookson cut her teeth as a Bristol Old Vic director with Christmas shows for the under-sevens in the Studio. It was a good grounding. For here she is in charge of the flagship production in the main house, alongside directing no fewer than three seasonal shows in London at the St James Theatre, the Lilian Baylis Studio and the Leicester Square Theatre.
