Kilworth House Theatre, Leicester: Helena Blackman, runner-up in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Maria quest, gets to play the role at last and does it sublimely. There are echoes of Anne of Green Gables in her sunny, disarming, fast-talking Maria, and the transition she makes to the mature woman is evident in her voice as well as her bearing.
