Zhang Huan by Murray Whyte

In 1998, Zhang Huan stripped naked and had writers inscribe his bare flesh with proverbs and poetry from Chinese and Buddhist literature and history. He then picked up the bloody rib cage of a freshly-slaughtered pig, flesh still clinging to its bones, and slung it around himself like a coat of armor. He called the performance 1 of 2, which could leave you wondering, agape, what he might do for an encore.
