'Footnote' director makes his notation
Israel was a serious player at the recent Academy Awards and film festival ceremonies thanks to Tel Aviv-based screenwriter and director Joseph Cedar. His newest film, Footnote, was an Oscar nominee for best foreign film. Cedar's earlier film, Beaufort, was also nominated for an Oscar in 2008, and won him the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
