The Lyric Opera of Chicago's new production of Show Boat, the 1927 musical drama that was a watershed in American theatre, plays Feb. 12-March 17 at The Civic Opera House. Opera and concert star Nathan Gunn and Broadway's Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) play young lovers whose path over the years is as twisted as the Mississippi River.
