Public Theater adds a ragtime score and a turn-of-the-century backdrop to 'As You Like It'
Shakespeare and ragtime, a match made in the mind of Pittsburgh Public Theater chief Ted Pappas, was established with an original score by Michael Moricz and unleashed by the company in the form of a jaunty "As You Like It." Mr. Pappas arrived at 1907 as the year for the hidden-identity, women's-lib (for Elizabethan times) play after much era searching.
