American Idiot Tour Has Broadway Company Members Van Hughes and Leslie McDonel; Cast Announced by Kenneth Jones

Van Hughes, the standby for the trio of broken buddy roles in Broadway's American Idiot, will play Johnny — also known as Jesus of Suburbia — in the national tour of the Green Day musical, producers announced on Oct. 26.
