Laura Benanti, the Tony-nominated, erstwhile star of Broadway's <I>Into the Woods</I> who is currently featured in <I>Nine</I>, recently underwent cervical spine surgery for a herniated disc pressing against her spinal cord, Playbill On-Line has learned.
