Explaining his long stage career, Michael Kantor, executive producer of PBS's "Broadway: The American Musical," said yesterday that Orbach had "the old Broadway charisma. He didn't have the strongest voice, he didn't have the best looks, and he certainly wasn't a triple threat because he wasn't the greatest dancer. But he could command the stage the way he commanded the streets in the TV show."
