In recent years, the Cherry Lane Theater has hosted some outstanding original comedies. The cozy theater's string of comic successes ends abruptly with "Open Heart," a semiautobiographical show by 1970s teen idol Robby Benson that interweaves a stale string of syrupy songs with sophomoric skits.
