'Grease' needs more than Avalon
Throughout the first act and into the beginning of the second, the reaction of the audience at Tuesday's opening night of the musical Grease had been restrained. But at the opening of the second scene of Act 2, at the mere appearance of the silhouette of a man holding a microphone, the Academy of Music theatergoers broke into wild applause.
