Once again, McPherson shows off his generous sensitivity to the slight tics and minor dislocations of everyday speech, in an acutely observed production that he also directed. But despite rewardingly unforced work from three strong actors, the emotional undercurrents in the script can feel so buried that they often seem hardly there at all.
