Oh, how George Gershwin would have loved Audra McDonald. Harold Arlen, too. And Irving Berlin. And Vincent Youmans. And Duke Ellington. In fact, there's probably no Broadway or jazz-influenced songwriter of the past century, living or dead, who would not thrill to the idea of having McDonald interpret one of their songs.
