Among the notable omissions were the Philadelphia Theatre Company production of <em>Grey Gardens</em>, the musical that recently ended a run on Broadway; Lantern Theater's galvanizing springtime production of <em>Hamlet</em>; and Theatre Exile's searing version of <em>Blackbird</em>, a play about a young woman's abduction. <em>Grey Gardens </em>received one nomination, for Eric Ebbenga's music direction.
