The larger question is this: Will the failure of this musical-along with, recently, those of <em>Young Frankenstein, High Fidelity, Cry-Baby, Tarzan</em> and <em>The Little Mermaid</em>-put a dent in the recent trend toward musicals adapted from name-brand movies?
