An androgynous emcee introduces inept chorus girls at a club in 1920s Berlin while a naive young journalist observes from the sidelines and tries to save a charismatic, self-destructive star from herself. But this isn't <cite>Cabaret</cite>, just a subpar carbon copy about a real-life star of Weimar Germany.
