The Dangerous Liasons - Reviewed by MARC MILLER

Oliver Gooch's spirited conducting coaxes as much variety out of Conrad Susa's score as anyone could, and the singers' diction is so clear that the supertitles are superfluous, but emotionally this opera based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' 1782 novel feels like it's being played behind a scrim.
