Sad news about the death of Maggie Smith. Her pre-Broadway performance in "Private Lives" in Boston in 1975 (which I saw nearly 50 years ago -- and wrote a show-off review for a suburban Massachusetts daily) was one of my top 20 stage performances of all time. I still remember her TRIPLE take on discovering her ex-husband on an adjoining hotel balcony. She was truly one of the greats.
